Seminars: Writing to Get Things Done

Our Trainers/Your Site

A Tailored Training Experience That Continues Long After the Seminar is Over

Stan Berry providing follow-upAll of our seminars have two key advantages for your company — customization and follow-up. Stan Berry and his team of instructors use a three-part development process to design your company’s seminar.

  1. Pre-Seminar Analysis: Each participant submits writing samples 10 days before the seminar begins. The instructor uses these to prepare exercises for seminar discussion and to identify specific performance objectives for each participant that will help them transfer the principles from the seminar to their own writing faster. This analysis and feedback gives participants writing skills to work on that that will most drastically improve the readability of their writing.
  2. Seminar Session: The one-day seminar (or two half-day sessions) is designed according to what is learned during the pre-seminar analysis. Each seminar is customized to meet your company’s actual on-the-job writing needs.
  3. Follow-Up Session: Our seminar experiences do not end when the seminar is finished. We believe strongly in the power of feedback. It helps reinforce the course content and helps participants master effective writing.

Several ways we reinforce the newly acquired skills:

  1. Instructor-led follow-up sessions: 30 days after the seminar, we’ll come back to your company and meet with participants to discuss and critique post-seminar writing samples.
  2. Learning buddies: At the beginning of the seminar, the facilitator will support all participants in pairing up with another participant for follow-up sessions. Once a week for a month, the learning buddies are asked to meet, look at each others writing and support each other in attaining the objectives they outlined in the seminar.
  3. Fax/E-mail follow-up: Up to a year after the seminar, participants can fax or e-mail Berry Writing Group for critiques of their writing samples.
